Gardyloo Games (“we”, “us”) makes Crackword and Game Whiteboard. We build small games and try to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what the apps handle and why.
The short version
- You don’t need to create an account or give us your name or email to play.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- The apps rely on a few Google services (Firebase, and Google AdMob in Crackword) that process limited technical data to run and, where applicable, show ads.
Information the apps handle
Account information
Our apps don’t require you to register an account or provide personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Gameplay data (Crackword)
To play Crackword online — against a friend by invite code or a random opponent — the app sends the data needed to run that match (such as your invite code, your chosen word, and your guesses) to our game servers, which are hosted on Google Firebase. This information is used only to connect you with the other player and run the game. Offline play against the computer stays on your device.
On-device content (Game Whiteboard)
Whiteboard content you create in Game Whiteboard stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Device and diagnostic data
Like most apps, our apps and the services they use may automatically receive standard technical information — such as device model, operating system version, app version, and app or device identifiers — to operate reliably, understand crashes, and keep the apps working.
Advertising
Crackword displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may use device identifiers (such as an advertising ID) and similar technical data. You can review or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, and on many devices you can limit ad personalization there as well. See Google’s Privacy Policy and its information about AdMob and data for details. Game Whiteboard does not show ads.
Third-party services
We use the following service providers, which process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — backend and hosting for online play and app infrastructure. See Firebase’s privacy information.
- Google AdMob (Crackword only) — advertising. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to run online games, operate and maintain the apps, fix problems and crashes, and — in Game Whiteboard — display advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
Children’s privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Data retention and security
Online match data is kept only as long as needed to run and complete a game. We take reasonable measures to protect the information handled by the apps, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You can reset or limit the advertising identifier used for ads in your device’s settings, and you can stop all data collection by uninstalling the apps.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
